British Popmusic

Britpop is a type of British Pop Music of the mid 1990's, that was typically influenced by the Beatles and many more artists. America were trending in the music industry with a genre named 'Alternative Rock'. This was similar to Britpop, meaning there was a lot of competition and rivalry within the charts.

Oasis- They are an English Rock band formed in 1991. The band originally consisted of Liam and Noel Gllagher, Tony McCarroll and Paul Arthur. Oasis have had eight UK number-one singles and eight UK numbeer one-albums, and won fifteen NME Awards, nine Q awards, four MTV Europe Music Awards and six Brit awards.

Though Britpop is seen retrospectively as a marketing tool, and more of a cultural moment than a musical style of genre, there are musical conventions and make influences the bands grouped under the Brit term have in common.

By doing our research into Britpop and the industry we can see the stereotypes and different marketing tools which bands use in order to make their videos more appealing
