My Target

 My target is that: 'I am aiming to further develop my skills using my initiative within Media'

Within Media this year I would like to try to incorporate much more professional ideas and therefore I can aim for the higher grades and this will help me push my overall grade up. By using my initiative to develop my ideas and skills I can make sure that we work harder to make our video the best it can be.

Editing session- Feedback 4

The feedback that we received was positive and stated that they enjoyed the variety of techniques in which we used. Additionally, the liked the use of conventions, narratives and the way we displayed a story within the video. They however said that they feel as if there should be more band member shots (both on our own and also as a group) and this is due to Luke is in the majority of the shots as he is the main character which we used. Although Luke is the main singer and is normal for him to be in the forefront of the shots there is still a very uneven display of band members which we need to work on in our net session.

Roland Barthes- codes

The Hermeneutic Code:  Refers to any element of the story that is not fully explained and hence creates a mystery. We are going to use the Hermeneutic code within our music video to keep the audience engaged. In order to do this we will save the most revealing clips till the end.  The Proairetic Code - This code builds up tension and refers to any other action or event that indicates something else is going to happen, which gets the reader guessing as to what will happen next. The  Hermeneutic  and  Proairetic  Codes work as a pair to develop the story's tensions and keep the reader interested Within our music video we will try to incorporate this so the audience are kept guessing as to what is going to happen and the build up of tension will hopefully help create this effect. Target Audience Identification

The target audience of Britpop is highly varied from people in their teenage years 16- early 20's and then people who were born during the birth of Britpop music (35-45 year old). Britpop music is such a highly varied age group that it is hard to identify as there has been a revival of the music during the last decade where many people have started to listen to it again. This is mainly due to The Stone Roses tour and also Liam Gallagher's new tour and album, with more music coming from Noel Gallagher in the foreseeable future. Within Britpop music there is no specific Gender that the music is aimed at but the predominant sex which listen to their style of music is males, this is ultimately down to the fact that all the bands that are featured in the industry are all males.
