Editing Log - Session 3

Within this Editing session Luke was unable to attend due to him having a University interview which left me and Jack to make the changes which our audience had identified in our last editing feedback. Throughout the session we added more shots into the start and cut some of the shots so that they did no show Lucy's facial features but also make some of the other shots sharper. We also added in different shots in between Luke and Lucy in order to create more continuity and allow the music video to flow properly.

We also used the blade tool to split the shots in parts we wanted to use elsewhere and pieced the other clips together alongside other shots to allow the video to be understood more easily. We also used trimming tool to cut down different shots which we thought were too short and allow specific parts of the video to stand out from the rest as well as removing the 3 seconds before and after. The session of feedback which we explained to Luke was basically adding more shots at the beginning due to us knowing there was not enough variety and some of the shots were too long in the introduction which we needed to change.

All in all, i believe we made massive progress in changing the introduction as it was not up to standard with the rest of our work. It now portrays a clear use of binary opposition and also shows the genre convention which we are representing in our video. We have also conveyed the use of Barthes' codes in our video by highlighting the mystery of the song and what it means. This being clear at the start of our video helps the audience to understand the narrative for the rest of the music video and understand what we are trying to create
